Creating a Digital System for the Environment Act
Nolemmings played a key role in the development and safeguarding of the Digital System for the Environment Act (DSO). With our expertise in architecture, product management, and governance, we contributed to a stable and future-proof national infrastructure.
Challenge
The DSO is a large-scale, inter-governmental system that must meet the requirements of the Environment Act, and the diverse needs of involved governments and implementing organizations. The challenge lies in designing a scalable, performance-oriented, governable architecture within a dynamic field of stakeholders.
Our Approach
Nolemmings provided multiple experts within the program who executed the following:
We specified the architecture for the DSO data platform and led the architecture teams
We designed and integrated practical, transparent architecture governance as a solid implementation of the SAFe frameworks
As DSO Lead Product Manager & Data Scientists, we translated questions from stakeholders into concrete DSO services for monitoring the system performance.
We coordinated closely with organizations such as the Ministry of the Interior (BZK), municipalities, provinces, and water authorities
Our information architect guided decision making and provided direction for the continued development of the information architecture
Result
Thanks to Nolemmings’ contribution, a stable and future ready platform emerged that:
aligns with the requirements of the Environment Act
is effectively governable within a complex inter-governmental landscape
is supported by stakeholders at both national and regional levels
is ready for digital transformation of the physical living environment domain
