ABN AMRO: Data Architecture & Data Management
Within the TOPS 2020 rationalization program, ABN AMRO aimed to professionalize and modernize its data domain. Nolemmings supported the bank by designing a coherent data architecture and strengthening data management at an organizational level.
Challenge
Within the rationalization programme TOPS 2020, ABN AMRO aimed to professionalize and modernize its data domain. The bank was working with fragmented data sources, inconsistent definitions and outdated processes. There was no clear structure for master and reference data, which led to quality issues and inefficiencies. A future-proof, unified approach to data architecture and management was needed.
Approach
Nolemmings designed the Future State Architecture for master data and reference data and set up data management based on DAMA principles. We defined roles, processes and standards, and guided implementation teams in applying them. Together, we established a shared way of working with data across the organization.
Outcome
ABN AMRO now has a consistent and scalable data architecture. Data quality has improved, governance is clear and data services operate more uniformly throughout the organization. This provides a solid foundation for further digitalization and risk control.
